SWMU 58 – Rifle Range at Punta Puerca

SWMU 58 is located in the southeast portion of Punta Puerca in an upland area covered with secondary growth vegetation.  Historic records reviews identified this area as a former rifle range.  The site includes a concrete bermed structure with galvanized piping protruding from the top of the concrete berm.  There appeared to be no signs of strains or stressed vegetation.

Surface soil samples were collected from the site.  Sampling results were below the background and soil screening criteria.

Status

• A Determination of Corrective Action Complete Without Controls is recommended in the RCRA 7003 Administrative Order on Consent.
