AOC A – Torpedo Shop

The Torpedo Shop, AOC A, was inspected during the 1993 visual site inspection.  Based upon statements and historic reports, this SWMU managed Otto Fuel used in the target drones. There is no indication that this site systematically or routinely released hazardous waste or constituents.

Status

• The RCRA 7003 Administrative Order on Consent recommends a Phase I RFI for AOC A.
• A Final RCRA Facility Investigation Work Plan for the Torpedo Shop was submitted to the EPA on October 11, 2006.
• EPA approved the Final Phase I RFI Work Plan for AOC A on October 20, 2007.
• The Final Phase I RFI Report for AOC A was submitted to the EPA on November 20, 2007
• EPA approved the Phase I RFI Report for AOC A on January 7, 2008.
• AOC A is recommended for Corrective Action Complete with Controls for cleaning the interior of the building before reuse.
• AOC A soil around the building is recommended for Corrective Action Complete with Controls.
